On Saturday, August 22 from 9:00am-3:00pm, the 5th Annual Community Food Drive will be held in support of the FNBO Food Pantry at Laramie County Community College and the food pantry at Veterans’ Rock. Volunteers will be collecting non-perishable food at Safeway, King Soopers and Albertson’s (Yellowstone Road location) grocery stores. The event has been organized by a coalition of community-minded services clubs, specifically the Kiwanis, Lions, Rotary, Rotaract and Zonta Clubs of Cheyenne. Non-perishable donations of canned or packaged food will be accepted, as will personal hygiene products. Cash donations will not be solicited during the food drive. However, those wishing to make a monetary donation may Venmo a contribution to Zonta (@cheyennezonta) or a check may be sent to Zonta of Cheyenne Foundation at Post Office Box 2883, Cheyenne, WY 82003. Any monetary contributions received will be passed on equally to the two pantries being supported during this event.
