2026-27 Mayor’s Youth Council Applications

Applications are being accepted for the 2026-27 Mayor’s Youth Council, a program for community-minded young people who are interested in learning more about city government, civic trusteeship, and community leadership. Positions are open for high school youth in 9th through 12th grades. Individuals interested must currently attend school or be home schooled and must reside within the city of Cheyenne. The 2026-2027 term will begin in August 2026 and conclude in May 2027. The Mayor’s Youth Council Selection Committee will review the applications and interview selected candidates. Successful applicants will be notified by August 2026. Applications are available online at www.cheyennecity.org/myc and can also be picked up from career/counselor offices at public junior and senior high schools. The deadline for applications is Friday, August 7, at 4:00pm. The Mayor’s Youth Council is a program of the City of Cheyenne and its Office of Youth Alternatives.
