The Zonta Club of Cheyenne is asking young and not-so-young artists, regardless of experience, to participate in its eleventh annual art contest. The theme is Domestic Violence: Rise, Recover, Reclaim. Artists are asked to provide, either realistically or abstractly, their vision of life as a survivor of domestic violence who is now trying to rebuild and restart a new life without violence, threats and harassment. Art in any medium is welcome, except for performance art. Paintings, drawings, prints, textile, photography, poetry and sculpture are all welcome. Three $200 prizes will be awarded: one for an artist under age 18, one for an adult artist and a People’s Choice award. Entries must be submitted no later than June 1 and may be dropped off at Flying S Title, 433 East 19th Street. Please include your name, age category, phone number and email. Entries will be returned following the end of the display period. For more information about the art contest or Zonta Club of Cheyenne contact Denise at parrishzonta@gmail.com.
