9th Africa MAAFA Conference

Sankofa African Heritage, Inc., an education nonprofit, presents the 9th MAAFA Remembrance Day Conference: Creating Schools and Curricula to Match Millennial Challenges in Education and Social Equality. Dr. Boyd Brown, Superintendent of LCSD1 and Jillian Balow, State Superintendent of Public Instructions (contingent) are principal speakers. The conference is designed to illustrate and acclaim the productive developments and progresses in the LCSD1, as well as, to address projections in statewide curricula trends, social needs and changing community values and responsibilities. The event is free and the date is Saturday, October 10, 9:00am-1:00pm, at the LCCC Union Pacific Rooms for Institutes and Conferences, (projected Health Department COVID-19 briefings will be observed).
