6th Annual Habitat Hero Workshop

The Cheyenne Habitat Hero Committee invites the public to attend the 6th Annual Habitat Hero Workshop on Saturday, February 29, 8:00am to 4:00pm, at Laramie County Community College, 1400 East College Drive, Pathfinder building, rooms 108 and 109. Registration is $25 (including lunch) and is limited to 125. Registration is through Brown Paper tickets, www.brownpape rtickets.com/. Search for “2020 Habitat Hero”. The theme of keynote speaker Panayoti Kelaidis is “Rethinking Wyoming Landscaping-Learning from the Natives.” He is an international plant explorer and the Denver Botanic Gardens’ senior curator and director of outreach. Kelaidis has designed plantings for many of the gardens at DBG and is particularly noted for the Rock Alpine Garden plantings. He has introduced hundreds of native ornamentals from throughout the Western United States to general horticulture. Presentations by Cheyenne Habitat Heroes make up the “Native Plant Gardening 101” part of the workshop and will illuminate the steps for planning, installing and maintaining a native plant Habitat Hero garden for birds, bees, butterflies and other wildlife.
